Formation:
The Association of Sierra Leonean Organizations in Texas (ASLOT) is typical a conglomeration of Sierra Leonean organizations in Texas.
Mission:
The mission of the Association of Sierra Leonean Organizations in Texas (ASLOT) is to organize Sierra Leoneans in the State of Texas into a more loving and cohesive community, while employing interdependence together with non-Sierra Leoneans to support and promote sustainable growth in healthcare, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and social empowerment to benefit the people of Sierra Leone.
Goals:
- To foster mutually supportive and cohesive relationship among Sierra Leoneans and Sierra Leonean organizations in Texas.
- To leverage the individual resources of the various organizations, in order to support projects for the development of Sierra Leone.
- To promote and celebrate Sierra Leone’s rich culture and Independence.
- To influence local and State legislatures and institutions in Texas, in helping to promote issues of vital interest to Sierra Leone, and the Sierra Leonean community in Texas.
- To work with the government of Sierra Leone in promoting issues of vital interest to Sierra Leone.
Vision:
Collectively contributing and sharing our resources as a unified effort, to take ownership and bring renewed hope, mutual love and unity, patriotism, and overall sustainable prosperity to our people and country, Sierra Leone.
